Gaslamp Neighborhood Info, Listings & Market Report
The Gaslamp Quarter (“District”) is a neighborhood district of San Diego, California. It borders the Marina District to the west and East Village to the east. The Gaslamp Quarter extends from Broadway to Harbor Drive (north/south respectively) and from 4th to 6th Avenue (west/east respectively). The Gaslamp Quarter is also know as the Gaslamp District.
The Gaslamp District was first developed in the 1860’s as the main portion of “New Town”. Gaslamps were the main source of lighting. Alonzo Horton is attributed to much of the early development of this district. The District is home to the U.S. Grant Hotel and was once home to Wyatt Earp.
